Join us as Canadian Chef Aimée Wimbush-Bourque, alongside nutrition leaders and advocates, wake us up with breakfast and empowering life stories.
Background:
Sustainable Development Goal 2 aims to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture. This ambitious goal not only requires strong, multi-sectoral programming, it requires an understanding of the impacts of gender inequality on these areas, and the interventions that enable women to be leaders in nutrition, food security, and agriculture.
SDG 3 aims to ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all. Nutrition is a key part of health promotion and disease prevention (in particular, non-communicable diseases). Every sector and community, as a whole, and each individual has a part to play to be accountable to address malnutrition, putting gender equality as the driving force.
As we work towards the Nutrition for Growth Summit in 2020, it is critical that partners continue to push for the inclusion of gender considerations into all nutrition, food security, and agriculture programming, and that we lift up the voices and leadership of women in these areas.
