About
The SDG2 Advocacy Hub coordinates global campaigning and advocacy to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: To end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030. With 17 SDGs to achieve by 2030, the Hub offers a new game plan- a way of working that engages the largest group of diverse actors to work together on SDG2 priorities while focusing on individual specialist areas of work that will ultimately meet the targets.
Facilitated by the SDG2 Hub, the Chefs’ Manifesto is a chef-led project that brings together 500+ chefs from around the world to explore how they can help deliver a sustainable food system. As chefs bridge the gap between farm and fork, the Chefs’ Manifesto empowers chefs with a framework tied to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This framework consists of simple, practical actions chefs can take and are grouped in the following 8 areas:
- Ingredients grown with respect for the earth & its oceans;
- Protection of biodiversity & improved animal welfare;
- Investment in livelihoods;
- Value natural resources & reduce waste;
- Celebration of local & seasonal food;
- A focus on plant-based ingredients;
- Education on food safety, healthy diets & nutritious cooking;
- Nutritious food that is accessible & affordable for all.
