🚨Food is a basic human right, and no one should ever go hungry—no matter the circumstances. It's time to ensure access to nutritious, sustainable food for all to save lives, build resilience and secure the future. #HungryforAction
US funding has been the backbone of food assistance in Somalia, supporting @WFP to cover 90% of lifesaving hunger needs.
If implemented, these cuts would force WFP to stop assistance by next month, leaving 620,000 people at risk of severe hunger.
📍 #GazaUpdate: All 25 WFP-supported bakeries have shut down due to lack of flour and fuel.
@WFP distributed the last remaining food boxes and these will cover families' basic food needs for one week.
WFP urges all parties to allow aid to enter Gaza immediately.
STATEMENT: WFP is deeply concerned by recent notifications from the US administration indicating that funding for emergency food assistance in 14 countries has been terminated.
