Purpose of the role:

Coordinate the execution of a global public facing campaign, Hungry for Action, the campaign to end the global food crisis, facilitating strategy development, vibrant partner network, creative activations, strategic communications and public mobilisation.

Responsibilities
Primary:

Coordinate a global change strategy, encompassing policy development, creative activations, strategic communications and public mobilisation about the global food crisis.

  • Oversee activities that create an authentic campaign feel with diverse voices at the forefront of the food crisis.
  • Focus on and track the political commitment and action needed and develop strategies that target power centers for more political action.
  • Work with the digital communications team and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for Hungry for Action which contribute to key campaign outcomes leveraging global opportunities in the next year.
  • Keep up to date with food crisis related policy and development ensuring these are factored into campaigns.
Partnerships & Network:
  • Build and cultivate the campaign by nurturing campaign partnerships, developing the strategy and implementation plan, while ensuring engagement and commitment of a vibrant network of partners and supporters.
  • Facilitate regular campaign networking meetings, managing agendas, documents, and follow-up efficiently to enable a thriving coalition, expanding reach, sustaining interest, and coordinating key meetings and input.
  • Coordinate all campaign activities with the rest of the hub team to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Campaign Execution:
  • Provide the strategic vision for the campaign, including a focus on making and tracking political commitment and action, targeting power centers.
  • Ensure campaign plans and implementation connect domestic experience to global governance processes, response and funding mechanisms.
  • Day to day leadership and management of the campaign:
            • Coordinate the development of annual campaign strategy
            • Develop and update campaign work plan
            • Coordinate internal team to foster effective work flow across the relevant Hub functional teams
            • Set agendas for and convene campaign external steering committee
  • Oversee communications with campaign partners and development and dissemination of campaign communications toolkits
  • Coordinate and manage consultantsand creative agencies
  • Stay updated and lead response to research, political events, etc that will influence the campaign
  • Support and coordinate the role of spokespersons for the campaign in the media, at events and in coalitions.
  • Budget – management in line with COO oversight.
Other:
  • Team meeting/Leads/ input into Bridge Report/Grant reports etc.
  • Oversee the H4A newsletter ensuring strong content and timely distribution

Key working relationships
Chief of Strategy and Advocacy Impact ( and Senior Policy Officers) to ensure a policy informed campaign; Communications Coordinator for outreach of campaign messaging and Chief Operating Officer for time wide support and partnership support.

Skills & Competencies needed:
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing, implementing advocacy campaigns with a preference around the SDGs.
  • Experience working in remote or hybrid work environments.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal & written.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Strong collaborative work skills.
  • Experience working on collaborative tools like Slack, Zoom, Dropbox will be considered a strong positive.

Location – Remote working from home, ideally based in the Europe, Africa time zone.

Salary – Competitive, dependent on experience.

Initial Term – 6 – 12 months contract (with the possibility of extension), with 3-month probation which will be reviewed in full, at milestone dates.
