On Thursday, 25 July, Hungry for Action launched the Empty Plates campaign in London and Rio de Janeiro to spotlight the global food crisis.

In London, Chefs, local food champions and advocates served over 733 empty plates at Kings Cross- each plate representing 1 million people living in hunger worldwide.

The #EmptyPlates initiative aims to combat the global food crisis by urging governments to implement a global plan. The campaign is using the image of an empty plate to represent the harsh reality faced by hundreds of millions of people who are currently suffering from hunger.
