Beans in snacks and in our lunch,
Beans in sauces, beans on spreads,
Beans in meals, and in our breads,
Beans on salads, beans in sweets,
Beans in drinks, delightful treats.
From dawn to dusk, they’re a brilliant habit,
For our health and the planet.
In June, let’s find them at every venue,
Join us and put #beansonthemenu!

WHY BEANS?
Beans are a simple, affordable solution to our global health, climate and cost of living challenges.
- Beans are for everyone! Not just for vegetarians or those on a budget, they’re the perfect food choice for anyone looking for a nutrient-dense, sustainable food option that is kind to our bodies, the planet, and our wallets.
- Beans are nutritious! 120g cooked (half a large can) of beans provides around a third of your daily recommended fibre. It’s also packed with plant-based protein and essential nutrients like potassium, iron and folate. Regularly consuming beans can improve your digestive health, make you feel fuller longer, and help improve your overall health.
- Beans are good for the planet, helping to safeguard the environment for future generations. They are a climate-smart agricultural solution and their long shelf-life can help prevent food waste, making them a great, healthy pantry staple.
- Beans are versatile and delicious! Beans on toast may be the most iconic bean-based British dish, but beans can be prepared and incorporated into a variety of foods including meals, snacks, sauces, spreads, desserts, and even beverages.
