Strategic Framework Report

The Climate Conscious Catering initiative was a pioneering effort led by the SDG2 Advocacy Hub in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), and under the auspices of the COP28 Presidency. This initiative sought to set a new standard and transform the way events are catered, showcasing it is possible to host large scale events and provide food that is respectful of people and the planet.

COP28 did more than talk, it led by exemplary action. By empowering local chefs and food producers to integrate climate-conscious principles into every aspect of food and beverage service, from sourcing ingredients to waste management, the initiative advocated for sustainable solutions that support both the environment and global sustainable development goals. This Strategic Framework Report outlines the process and collaboration between the SDG2 Advocacy Hub and MOCCAE.
