The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2024: Special Event on Financing to End Hunger, Food Insecurity and Malnutrition in All its Forms July 15, 2024 11:00 am

Overview

Ahead of the official launch of the United Nation’s State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) report on 24 July in Brazil, Food and Agriculture Organisation and its co-publishing partners will host a Special Event on 15 July 2024 at the ECOSOC High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) to unpack key messages from the report.

The event will unpack the SOFI 2024 theme, “Financing to End Hunger, Food Insecurity and Malnutrition in All its Forms.”

The discussions will delve into current financing levels and gaps in food security and nutrition, proposing innovative financial solutions to address key drivers of food insecurity and malnutrition, and support agrifood system transformation crucial for achieving SDG Targets 2.1 and 2.2.

This event sets the stage for the full SOFI 2024 report launch in Rio de Janeiro on 24 July, unveiling new UN data and statistics on global hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition in all its forms.
