What is the Chefs’ Manifesto Action plan?
Chefs bridge the gap between farm and fork. The Chefs’ Manifesto Action Plan is a framework tied to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that consists of simple, practical actions grouped into 8 Thematic Areas written by chefs, for chefs. Ultimately, it empowers chefs to champion food systems transformation and connects their work to the global conversation. Learn more here.
What are the Sustainable Development Goals, and why does the Chefs’ Manifesto focus on SDG2?
The Sustainable Development Goals are a framework agreed to by 193 member states of the United Nations that provide a shared blueprint for a more peaceful, equitable and sustainable world for people and the planet. You can learn more at sdgs.un.org.
The Chefs’ Manifesto brings together the SDGs, with a core focus on good food for all, and driving action towards achieving SDG2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.
Why?
Chefs play a vital role in bridging the gap between farm to fork, through their lived experience, shared knowledge and collective voice. Food is the common thread, and addressing SDG2 allows the Chefs’ Manifesto network to drive the intersectional change needed to strengthen food systems by also considering the overlapping inequalities in health, climate, nutrition, agriculture, and gender.

How can I connect with Chefs’ Manifesto chefs?
Aside from connecting with other chefs in the network through the newsletter and social media, the Chefs’ Manifesto website has a map showcasing the locations of chefs across the network! Check out the map to see which other chefs are nearby to you.
What is an Action Hub? How do I coordinate one?
Grounded in the eight Chefs’ Manifesto thematic areas, Chefs’ Manifesto Action Hubs inspire action; they are a practical response to the climate, health, and cost of living pressures embedded in global food systems, whilst also celebrating local dishes and championing resilient, local crops.
Each Action Hub is bespoke to its location and co-designed with chefs and food system experts from the region, ensuring that the discussions and solutions are grounded in local realities. The event can bring the food community together through cooking demonstrations, on-site tours, expert panels, shared meals and open discussions shared by restaurateurs, policy makers, chefs, farmers, nutrition scientists or other food system enthusiasts.
By facilitating chef-led system transformation, Action Hubs directly address local challenges and encourage a locally-championed opportunities mindset moving forward.
